Grace
James 4:6
Grace is one of the foundational stones of our faith. There are many who have mistakenly said that grace is given to any who say they believe. That is not the case. To come to Jesus we have to come with humility. Humility says I know there is wickedness inside of me. I know I’m unworthy to stand before you Lord. The prideful say I’m a good person I’m not as bad as that guy. So Jesus has to accept me. God completely resists them. He wants nothing to do with them because of their arrogance & pride. They want to continue to live in their sinfulness & still expect God to be gracious to them. It will never happen until they fully surrender in humility then He will pour out His grace on them. Then He will send His Holy Spirit to empower them to be an overcomer of the sinful tendencies of the flesh. The prideful cannot truly believe or receive the Holy Spirit because they do not fully trust or surrender to Jesus, admitting they can do nothing without Him.
